Why brown rice over white rice? The answer is quite simple. All rice starts out brown. White rice is just brown rice that has had the germ and the bran removed (the nutrition!). You can buy fortified white rice where some of the nurtients has been "sprayed on" after polishing. By eating brown rice you are eating an unprocessed whole grain. The benefits of whole grains are many. The fiber, antioxidants, and protein all work together to help us live a long healthy life!
